The Assessment Conversion Matrix report is designed to enable quick comparisons between assessments at one period with those in another in order to identify any pupils of concern.
It identifies the percentage (number) of pupils working at each assessment code in one period compared to their assessment in another.
It is designed to allow pupils movements to be clearly spotted and any supporting action taken. For example, a pupil may be assessed as Just At in the first period (vertical axis) but then assessed as Below in the later one (horizontal axis). This may be an indicator that this pupil requires further support to reach their potential.
By default the report compares the current term with the end of the previous year.
If you want to know which pupils are represented by the numbers simply click a value in the table and the cell will expand to show the names.

Comparing Statutory Data (Primary report only)
One of the most powerful tools in the report is the ability to compare statutory end of key stage data with ongoing summative assessments.
To do this choose the required option in the From and To menus (currently on KS1 TA available).
Doing this allows you to see, for example, if the pupils who were assessed as Working At the required standard are still on track to achieve the same or better and make focus decisions accordingly.
Display Options
There are a number of additional options to suit the analysis focus you are interested in.
Names - Toggles showing all pupil names on/off
Cumulative - Displays the data as cumulative. The value at each assessment or higher.
